BCCFP Annual Report 2025-2026

Posted On September 9, 2026

The core of what we do at BCCFP is always member-driven. The priorities we pursued, the positions we took, the partnerships we invested in, and the physicians we celebrated this year all connect back to what you've shared with us about the realities of practising family medicine in our province.

Our board, committees, and staff worked hard on those priorities, and here are the results of that collective effort. Below are a few highlights, and we invite you to explore the full interactive report for the complete picture.

Bold Advocacy
  • We released our position on the importance of terminology
  • Responded to the province's CARGA Primary Care Report.
  • Commissioned public polling on timely access to primary care
  • Celebrated BC Family Doctor Day and had our Advocacy Day at the Legislature.

Focused Support
  • Celebrated your work and dedication during Family Doctor Month, and honoured our BCCFP Awards Recipients.
  • Our Cultural Safety and Humility Grants Program backed initiatives connecting family physicians with their local Indigenous communities.
  • Welcomed Dr. Willow Thickson as our Indigenous Physician Lead and established our Indigenous Health Committee.

Strategic Partnerships
  • We strengthened relationships across the primary care ecosystem, brought partner voices into our Advocacy Day messaging.
  • Represented family medicine on national stages, including the Family Medicine Forum in Winnipeg, the CFPC Chapter Leaders Meeting in Halifax, and the Rural Health Conference.

All of this Is Possible Thanks to You

BCCFP exists because of you, our members. Member dues account for 94% of our funding, which means our work is driven by you. Every position we take and every priority we set is rooted in the realities of your practice, your patients, and your communities.

These are just brief highlights - there's so much more to celebrate in the full annual report!
